Porch Tune
03:36
|
|||
Once green but now it’s painted
Like I pictured warmly in my memory
You’d see me serenely seated
Swinging with a tune there trying to find the key
Here I go forward
There I go back
Here I go forward
There I go back
Once bright but now it’s faded
Almost missing the shapes that form from the trees
And when I go there it’s vacant
But not empty grateful for what’s it’s been
Here I go forward
There I go back
Here I go forward
There I go back
Please stop me from saying any more
Please stop me from swaying back and forth
Please stop me from saying any more

Your Name
02:06
|
|||
I want your name
Stuck in my head
Played on repeat
Like truth it is
No other name will I sing
No other name will I sing
No other name will I sing
Just yours alone
I need your name
Sweet on my lips
Taste never leaves
Like truth it is
No other name will i sing
No other name will I sing
No other name will I sing
Just yours alone

Many Small Towns
02:20
|
|||
There are many smalls towns that I’m accustomed to
But there’s some that I know I won’t be returning to
It’s not that they’ve been forgotten I know where they are
And it isn’t due to distance for they’re not so far
I’m finding as time goes
Places do too
I’m finding some new ones
Bet you are too
There are many friendly faces all of which I’ve known
But there’s fewer that I hold near the older I’ve grown
It’s not like they’ve turned so evil, in my mind they stay
There’s just less room in my circles as I go my way
I’m finding as time goes
People do too
I’m finding some new folks
Bet you are too

People Pleasing
02:01
|
|||
I’ve found no reason
For this people pleasing
It gives me no gladness
A worthless apparatus
It makes me feel blinded
And so I've decided that
I will forget you
Doesn’t make me sad
I will forget you
Doesn’t mean I’m bad
I’ve given up trying
Now I can’t help but smiling
Don’t seek out acceptance
Be grateful for any chance
They’ll tell you it’s treason
But really it’s freedom from
I will forget you
Doesn’t make me sad
I will forget you
Doesn’t mean I’m bad

Spacey Stacy II

Things must be in the past
For you to reminisce
Feelings are memories
That you one day you will miss
Try to catch and keep those
For they’re lost in the abyss
Retracing trails once trod
So sure they weren’t like this
These things are best remembered
But not best re-lived
Don’t plant your stake in soils
That are so prone to shift
Be glad that they once were
But know they don’t persist
Things must be in the past
For you to reminisce

Sometimes Sunday Evening
02:38
|
|||
Sometime Sunday Evening
Is when I feel it most
Despite my hearing
Of father, son, and ghost
Is this just a yearning
To be where I’m from
Stuck between what once was
And what’s yet to come
Sometimes Sunday evening
Is when I find the holes
In what’s thought to be
So constant, bright, and full
How can I look forward
Until you are near
Cull me from within myself
So I become we

I can’t always be the sunshine
There are days when there’ll be clouds
I don’t want to disappoint you
Don’t let me fill you with doubts
Please know that I’m am human
Made of human flesh
I trying my best to deal
With what I’ve been dealt
Everything’s not perfect all the time
But in the end I promise it’s fine
Just stay there and tell me that your mine
And somehow we’ll figure it out
I can’t always be the sunshine
There are days when there’ll be rain
I try my best to protect you
Never want to cause you pain
Please know that I have fallen
Been this way since birth
Look past all my illusions to see what i’m worth
Everything’s not perfect all the time
But in the end I promise it’s fine
Just stay there and tell me that your mine
And somehow we’ll figure it out
And somehow we’ll figure it out
And somehow we’ll figure it out

Is She a Dream?
02:44
|
|||
Is she a dream?
Is She a dream?
Is she a dream?
As for Taylor I would mail her
My heart if I didn’t need it
But it’s won and she’s what keeps it running
I can’t tell if I’m sleeping
Or if my eyes are just closing
I don’t deserve to see what I’m viewing
Is she a dream?
Is she a dream?
Is she a dream?
As for Taylor I won’t fail her
Cuz she gives me strength and vigor
That I can’t find when I’m on my own
I can’t tell if I’m waking
There’s certainly no mistaking
Her loving arms wrapped so tight against me
Is she a dream?
Is she a dream?
Is she a dream?
I think I know the answer
To the question I’ve be wanting
And it’s just what I needed to hear
Is she a dream?
Is she a dream?
Is she a dream?
She is no dream
She is no dream
She is so real

Where to Start
01:51
|
|||
Not much to say
I cannot repay you
Counting every day
Wouldn’t scratch the surface
Of the endless praise
And support you shower
Never fully shown
My appreciation
I guess the only way
For compensation
Is to show someone else
Such adoration
I know i won’t be
Half what you are
At least you have shown
Me where to start

It Will Be Like It Was
02:20
|
|||
It will be like it was
Except better now because
Your new home and mine’s the same
And we’ll share a last name
I have been waiting
And Now you are coming
And now you are coming home
It will be like it was
Sounds so great yes it does
To have you back for good
Is the only way I could
I have been waiting
And now you’re coming
And now you’re coming home
